Okay, so The Librarian isn’t as mechanically fleshed out as the Dwarven Defender but I’m really looking forwards to getting to work on her. She’ll work in a similar respect to the Antiquarian but she’ll boost the party’s Resolve XP instead of the amount of treasure they’ll gain. As such you don’t really want to use her very much during the early campaign but will help reduce the late game grind as you’re training up replacement heroes. This might be a really bad idea. It’s obviously subject to change.

Physically she will be short (about 5’0″ or a little shorter). Shorter than the dwarf so we’ll need to make sure there are noticable size differences between, let’s say, her, the dwarf and the graverobber. She’ll be wrapped up nice and warm to keep out the cold with a tattered old shawl around her shoulders and clutching a big book to her chest with both hands. It’s a personal favourite of hers (and very big and heavy). At her side she’ll have a satchel full of smaller books, writing materials and art and craft things. Her hair looks like she cut it herself (because she did) and she’s quite a scrawny little thing.

    Combat skills:
Beat Back (hits them with the book – knockback)
Art Attack (throws art supplies, mark target)
    Rearrange (shuffle all enemies)
Book Worm (reads the book, less stress & stuff)
??My Hero (makes an ally guard her, random ally? whole party? No idea how broken that could get)
??Some variant on Get Down/Protect Me?
Combat skills are very theoretical with no numbers yet and needs a full 7 skill set.

    Camping skills:
Bedtime Story camping skill (among others)
Knowledge is Power camping skill (don’t know what it would do).
Needs 2 more unique camping skills.

Old concept sketches by yours truly (will need to be adapted for the Darkest Dungeon costume period & art style).

Where are the glasses? I am into the Sexy Librarian type. Please, tell me to be quite~

But I do like the name and the theme. Fit well.
I am hoping to do a Scholar in far future as well.

No glasses. She has very good eyesight and is hypersensitive (rumour has it there might be fairy blood in her ancestry). Any thoughts on what her last few skills should be?

I honestly forgot I hadn’t mentioned her to you yet. I’ve mentioned her to a few people recently. Probably need to overhaul her outfit to have a Graverobber style jacket and other Darkest Dungeon style fashions. While she doesn’t particularly pay much attention to fashion (she’d much rather read a book) she still has to draw from what’s available to wear.

Apparently photobucket have literally decided overnight that I should pay them $400 a year for the right to share the images I upload to them purely for the purpose of sharing with other people in the first place. Now if you’re poor, like me, that’s basically half a month’s income or more.

Does anyone know of any affordable alternatives?

I’m surprised photobucket still exists. I’ve been using Imgur for years. With a bit of looking, you can even coax pure image urls out of them.

Visit HMV Plays, my YouTube channel where I play various games for your entertainment, including Darkest Dungeon!

I’m adding a new camping skill to the list: Soothing Chatter/Calming Chatter. She removes stress from a single ally and herself. I’ll refine the concept before working on anything.

It turns out someone on Steam is working on a Scholar mod with a very similar theme and a lot of remarkably similar skills. I’ve got in touch and we now seem to bw working together on this so hopefully something positive will come out of it that we both like.

Late last night I posted a quick video update on my channel. This includes a sneak peek at the Librarian’s idle sprite.

Link here in case you’re interested.
