Hi I am Trencher I saw the great art by Cribs for the game here: http://cribs.deviantart.com/gallery/ and was instantly hooked. I joined the kickstarter so I could get the artbook. I really like the style of the game and I also like that the developers have been active in the community. I even got a re tweet once when I asked them to not go overboard with humour elements. Very cool! I played the game for a while in between its crashes and I really like it. I feared that a class would be overpowerd but what I seen so far make it seem that all the classes are balanced.February 11, 2015 at 12:36 am #8652
Nice to meet all of you!
I’m Sarius, and I found out about Darkest Dungeon from an Early Access playthrough video (about a week prior to its release, so I sadly was one of the latecomers to the party).
I was instantly drawn in by the game’s hauntingly beautiful gothic atmosphere, and grimness of combat. As soon as the game released on Steam, I instantly fell in love with it and haven’t looked back since.
When I’m not playing Darkest Dungeon, I normally make videogame commentary on cooperative-based FPS games such as Killing Floor, among others.
Hope to catch you ingame sometime!
\m/ Rock steady! \m/

Great idea for a thread.
I’m SneakyPie, your fearless web and forum admin (I do graphic and web design for a living).
Darkest Dungeon is still the only project I’ve ever backed on Kickstarter.
This isn’t my first online community. I’ve done this kind of thing before when Minecraft was still in Alpha and created and grew a community consisting of more than 50,000 users from over 70+ countries in the world. Would be nice to get the Darkest Dungeon community up to a fraction of that kind of popularity.
Kudos to you for that. I would have backed it [DD] also. Only if it were within my field of awareness back then… Oh well, at least now I know of its existence. Gonna get it for PS4 too whenever it is released.
My nickname, real nickname is Fable and I hail you from Finland. All my friends use it so everyone here may want to give it a try. It used to be Fablean until one day some of my friends tried to pronounce it the first time – all, but ending up calling me Fable because it is shorter and they can pronounce it as written. I am into art, furries, anthros, games, manga, anime, music, singing, lyrics, movies, voice-acting, stand-up, books, writing, designing, budget-managing, behaviours, monetary systems, labels, fables, tables, chairs and coffee; more or less, in more ways than one, in a form or another.
I speak three languages: Finnish (softly slang-ish), English (Brit-ish) and Politician (bulls-hit). While I am able to understand the elusively draconic language, it does not automatically mean that I feel the urge to use it very often. Honestly it gives me a huge headache, but someone’s gotta mine the information out of those more or less old relics with less or more ancient habits which limits them to do merely just couple things. I like old people relatively speaking, but the learned rigid habits people have in their subconscious, tend to slow down everything they otherwise would learn as fast as anyone, let alone talking about willing (you can’t give out your consent if you don’t understand what keeps you from learning and doing things, more or less).
I am currently an unemployed (this country does not have any accurate term to call an individual who does thing, but does not take any money from them; mostly), a part-time salesman, a part-time project coordinator and lead-designer of Holonic Contribution System which envisions to complete the incomplete monetarian structure of current economics model. I am also in the middle (long project) of designing the most comprehensively ready and profoundly based company in the whole world (i.e. the biggest and the best). You gotta have some premises ready, right?

Screenname is unpronounceable so call me E. Longtime d&d player as well as a fan of many many strategy games. 4 “let’s players” that i follow on youtube all started playing this game so i went to steam and said “take my money”February 17, 2015 at 3:26 am #11286
Yo, I’m Evan from the US. Seeing how many people seem to have known about this game for a while, I have no idea what rock I was living under. I found out about darkest dungeon right before the game came out, via twitch. This group was streaming 100 hours of darkest dungeon to promote it. I dropped in a couple hours into the event, and it really drew my attention. I can safely say I spent most of that weekend watching them, and couldn’t wait to get my hands on the game. I picked it up on either Wednesday or Thursday, don’t remember exactly. I don’t really know how to describe it with detail, but my favorite part about this game is the environment. You probably have an idea of what I mean. I really can’t wait for the game to be finished, looking forward to all the new classes and dungeons coming out.February 17, 2015 at 10:57 pm #11848
My name’s Tammy and I was recently introduced to this game when a friend gave me a copy on Steam saying that I might like it. I’ve been a huge fan of Eldridge horror, creeping doom and grimdark RPG shenanigans since the days of Diablo. I’m a writer of Fantasy and erotica (often in the same breath, heh) and so far I can’t say enough good things about DD. . .
Well, except that it stole me from working from my client this week. I’ve spent 24 hours straight over the last 2 days just playing it. It’s been so amazing and thank you so much for the wonderful experience. You’ve got a fan in me, for sure.
I’ll be posting something on the forums sooner or later, but right now I have 2 days of billable hours to catch up on!

Yo, names Victor,
I found out about this game from a rather unlikely source, a hearthstone player. After looking the game up some more on youtube, I ended up buying it the very next day and I’m having a blast so far.
The position based gameplay, the stress meter, the quirks, the art direction; everything about this game is oozing with a style I didn’t realize I’ve been missing. I wish this game the best and hope to waste many hours playing this game.

Hello my name is Chris.
I found out about the game by a pal of mine.
I am a nut for anything that has to do with: Cthulu, DND, medieval fantasy and RPGS. DD seems a natural game for me to play 😀March 4, 2015 at 2:23 am #15566
The King in YellowParticipant
Hello! I am The King in Yellow, or “Hellion”(Another name of mine), and i heard this from a friend of mine, talking about a malicious game with lovecraftian ties, which is everything i am all about.
As for personal stuff; I like collecting masks, and participating in creepy things. I love horror, and i love being scared and worried and mentally taxed, whether its brain teasers, stories that are murky and are up to interpretation, and strategy. I am currently interested in audio engineering, and have hosted a college radio show called “The Bump in the Night”, a show where me and a co-host play recording of ourselves reading creepy stories from the internet, and talked about the subjects that laid within the stories(childhood memories, general talking about situations, critiques, etc.)
I also like cats, and i suck at ending introductions.
Just call me "Hellion" for short.March 10, 2015 at 5:24 pm #16780
Serpentis here. I have a soft spot for darker fantasy tales and the old Call of Cthulhu RPG (not to mention computer gaming, funny that!) so DD naturally got its hooks into me right away. …still actually haven’t done all that well at the game yet, but that’s a learning curve for you I guess 😀March 21, 2015 at 10:27 pm #18222
I heard about Darkest Dungeon quite a while ago, but was too busy with school to really look in to it. But with a friend of mine showing me more about it and seeing the Mike Mignola inspired art style, I forced myself to have time for it, haha! Even though it’s early access, it feels like there’s a good amount already there; working on a game myself, I know how much work making games can be!

Hello everyone, big fan of the game. In Los Angeles, completed all the content. Cant wait for more!March 28, 2015 at 11:52 am #18993
Made an account just last night and thought I’d say hello. : )
Loved Darkest Dungeon ever since I first saw it played by the Best Friends. I managed to download it even though my computer is not exactly meant for gaming.
Can’t wait for more content. Figure I might jump into a roleplay or something to keep busy.April 26, 2015 at 4:02 pm #24116
Greetings my fellows! Long time lurker finally popping in to say hey. I’ve been watching this game for a long time, and to say I’m excited is an understatement! I’m a writer, gamer, and avid artist. (Yup, that includes fan-art and fan-fics too.) Nice to meet you guys!May 13, 2015 at 1:16 pm #27669
Cresting reporting in,
Got this game after watching a friend play it during a slow class, and fell in love with it immediately. I like games that require a good bit of tactics and some luck, like Out There and have been edging closer to the horror games. Cant wait for more content and I hope the devs add in the houndmaster idea being bounced around.
